ALVS COVID-19 UPDATE
In light of COVID-19, we will be starting the FALL 2020 semester mostly online. We will be open on Mondays from 10am-2pm where both our ALVS staff & Veterans Education Benefits Office (VEBO) team will be available to answer questions in person, distribute calculators & iClickers, and eventually we hope to have some activity kits for student parents.
The main tenets of our office are Community & Engagement. We are committed to staying engaged with our community during this time. We will continue to be open virtually & by phone Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You can reach us at our main number 970-491-3977 or reach out to Acting Director, Lisa Chandler, at firstname.lastname@example.org. We also have a ‘Live Chat’ option on our website, https://alvs.colostate.edu/.
In addition, you can schedule a meeting with someone on our ALVS staff. Just complete the Meeting Request Form. You can request an in-person meeting, a virtual video meeting, or a meeting by phone.
Our Peer Advising team is still here to help, answer questions, and build community. If you want to be connected with a Peer Advisor fill out the Peer Advisor Request Form. We are working to create a regular Zoom Hangout weekly session where you can connect to peer advisors and other ALVS students. We will update this site with the link.
Our Tutoring Program will be available in the fall as usual. Tutoring requests can be made through our website by filling out the Tutoring Request Form. We generally have tutors available for most lower division science and math classes. If we don’t currently have a tutor for your particular class, we will work on finding one for you.
In order to stay informed and find out about opportunities for our ALVS community, please sign up for our ALVS Newsletter by filling out the ALVS Newsletter Request Form.
Ram Kidz Village (RKV) will be closed for the Fall of 2020 semester with the hope of returning in the Spring of 2021. In the meantime, our amazing staff at RKV are working on creating virtual content for student families such as videos of books being read or how to do a craft. We are also looking at putting together craft/activity kits for student parents to be able to pick up. Make sure you get our newsletter or follow our Facebook page to stay updated.
For our Student Veterans, if you have questions about your education benefits please email email@example.com or call 970-491-6340.
