I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where I received a BA in Communication & Culture; which I realized quickly wasn’t the exact path for me. I worked at a community college for about 8 years before I left. I knew in my heart the big city just wasn’t for me but I had no idea where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. So, I took my completely clueless self and moved to Minot, ND to be with my sister. I struggled during my time in Minot and decided in 2016 to take a trip to Europe for the summer to clear my head and explore a bit. On my return, I made the choice to go back to school for a second degree in Horticulture & Business Management. A few months after being accepted to CSU Online, I find myself living in Fort Collins and working here at ALVS.
I enjoy being in nature, teaching myself Korean (still a novice), writing in my spare time and learning whenever I can!

I was born in Buffalo, NY, but grew up in western NE, moving to Colorado at age 15 where I lived in the northern suburbs of Denver. As a teen, I began working as a roadie for local bands during and after high school, and when I graduated in 1992 from the Art Institute of Colorado I worked in the music industry. After a few years I found that was not the profession for me, so I slowly transitioned through retail then somehow faked my way into accounting. During that time I lived in Texas for a few years, but I had to return to the mountains and to Colorado. I then worked as a payroll administrator for nearly ten years until corporate America started killing a little piece of my soul every day. I quit the office gig and started my own sewing business, and for several years I worked from my home studio making hats, bags, and fun costumes for events like weddings and Burning Man.
It was then that I decided to return to school as an adult learner. I first went to Front Range Community College in Longmont, where I started as a geology student, discovered my passion for metalworking, earned both a science and an art associate degree, and won the highest two-year Honor Society scholarship in Colorado for 2015. I began my special study in the jewelry of the nomadic people of the Middle East and North Africa and decided I wanted to come to CSU to split my time between jewelry, rocks, and language. I met a very special Veteran mentor names Jerome Lewis who encouraged me into service for Vets and I worked for student Life at FRCC BCC. I am currently working on a BA with a concentration in Metalworking, a minor in Geology, and Arabic Language Studies here in fabulous Fort Collins while I enjoy serving our Veteran and adult student populations.
