The application period for Fall 2018 is now open!
The Peter E. Jones Scholarship was established to benefit a CSU non-veteran adult learner in need.
Peter E. Jones (1920 - 1996) was born in Terre Haute, Indiana. After completing high school, Peter was accepted to Stanford's pre-med program, and moved to California. After the attacks on Pearl Harbor, Peter dropped out of his senior year and joined the Marines, flying dive-bombers and torpedo planes in the Pacific Theater. When the war ended, he returned to Stanford, and successfully earned his M.D. He established a family practice in Hollister, California. Peter was always willing to see less fortunate patients, sometimes accepting payment in produce, or working for free for his customers. This scholarship is established in his name so that students in financial need can meet their goals; so that they might go on to help someone else.
